LONDON: Pakistan took command of the fourth test against England with a first-innings lead of 214 runs after Younis Khan smashed 218 Saturday on the third day.

Pakistan was bowled out for 542 at tea in reply to England's 328.

Younis' innings lasted more than 7 1/2 hours with 31 fours and it included a 97-run stand with No. 10 Mohammad Amir (39 not out) for the ninth wicket.

Pakistan was only 69 runs ahead when it lost its seventh wicket of Sarfraz Ahmed (44) in the first session after resuming on 340-6. But Younis, 101 overnight, farmed the strike mostly with Wahab Riaz (4 off 32 balls) and then with Amir to put England on the back foot.

Younis raised his double century with his fourth six before James Anderson finally trapped him leg before wicket with an off-cutter.

Chris Woakes took 3-82 and Steven Finn finished with 3-110.

England leads the four-match series 2-1.
