WATCH: Virat Kohli, Women's Team Take Centre Stage In BCCI's Throwback Video Of Top Moments Of 2022
Virat Kohli scored his maiden T20I hundred in 2022.
The year that has just gone by, 2022, wasn't particularly the best one for Indian cricket. Having said that, they had their moments of glory and success. While the men's team registered wins in most bilateral series, they failed to win both the multi-nation tournaments they were part of- the Asia Cup as well as the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
The women's cricket team, meanwhile, also failed to reach the knockout stage of the Women's ODI World Cup but were on the cusp of winning a historic Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham before settling for a silver medal post a defeat to Australia in the finals. In addition, the Women's Cricket Team emerged as the Asian Champions for the seventh time.
As the world bid farewell to 2022 and moved into 2023, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to social media to share a throwback video of the top moments of the year. Unsurprisingly, the achievements of the women's cricket team were in focus in the video. Virat Kohli also found a mention in the video with him scoring his maiden T20I hundred in 2022 and following it up with one of the greatest T20I knocks ever (82*) in the T20 World Cup fixture against Pakistan .
"As we inch closer to welcoming the New Year 🎊, let’s take a look back at some of the 🔝 moments for #TeamIndia in 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣2️⃣ 🙌🏻," the video shared by the BCCI's official handle was captioned.
