In Chennai, power shutdown will be experienced in the areas including Anna Nagar West and West Extension area, where the outage will be in effect from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Chennai Power Shutdown On Feb 21, 2025: Residents of Chennai are advised to remain prepared for scheduled power outages on Friday, February 21, 2025, as the Electricity Board undertakes essential maintenance work to ensure a safe and uninterrupted power supply. The temporary power cuts are part of routine maintenance efforts aimed at identifying and addressing potential issues, such as power leaks, to prevent major disruptions in the future.

In Chennai, the affected areas include Thirumangalam in Anna Nagar, where the power shutdown will be in effect from 9 AM to 2 PM. The specific areas impacted are:

  • Entire Anna Nagar West and West Extension area
  • Thiruvalleeswarar Nagar
  • Thirumangalam
  • NVN Nagar
  • CPWD Quarters
  • B, C, and D Sectors
  • 11th to 20th Main Road
  • Emerald Flats
  • Metro Zone Flats

 

Coimbatore Power Shutdown

Similarly, in Coimbatore, a power shutdown has been announced for the same timing in the SN Palayam area on Friday, Feburary 21, 2025. The localities to be affected include:

  • S.N. Palayam
  • Pappanaickenputhur
  • Vadavalli
  • Vedapatty
  • Veerakeralam
  • Telungupalayam
  • Velandipalayam
  • Saibaba Colony
  • Selvapuram
  • Gandhinagar
  • Anna Nagar
  • Lakshmi Nagar

The Electricity Board has assured residents that power supply will be restored earlier if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule. These planned outages are necessary to enhance the reliability and safety of the electrical infrastructure, ensuring long-term benefits for the community.
