IND Vs BAN: India make a winning start to their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, as Rohit Sharma's men hand Bangladesh a 6-wicket win on Thursday, February 20, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

Chasing a modest target of 229, team India never felt the pressure, as batters did extremely well to see-off the challenge from Bangladeshi bowlers, and with their win, India now stand a chance of handing Pakistan a knockout punch in their blockbuster fixture on Sunday at the same venue.

The man of the moment was India's Shubman Gill, who scored a magnificent ton in his maiden appearance at the ICC mega event whislt being the vice-captain of the side, as his unbeaten 101 saw the 2017 runners-up home.

India started their chase on an agrressive front, as the opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave the 2017 finalists a flying start. The 1st wicket stand could not last beyond the batting powerplay, as the side lost skipper Rohit Sharma at the score of 69.

Vrat Kohli failed to touch the 14k ODI runs-mark, as he fell 15 runs shy off it with his soft dismissal on the individual score of 22.

Shubman Gill did not let the middle-order jitters affect his approach and momentum, as despite losing Axar Patel and Shreyas Iyer cheaply, the 5th wicket stand of KL Rahul and Shubman Gill remained unbeaten, and yielded 87 runs, thereby, chaisng down the target with 21 balls remaining,

It was one of the slowest ODI centuries scored by an Indian batters, and out of his 8 ODI tons, it was Shubman Gill's slowest one till date.
