The 'Prince' reached the triple-figures inside 125 balls, as his unbeaten knock of 101 consisted of 9 fours, and 2 beautiful sixes, as India thump Bangladesh in their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opener.
"Yeah, definitely. One of my most satisfying hundreds. Also, my first in an ICC event. When me and Rohit bhai came out, we knew that cutting the ball won't be easy because it wasn't coming nicely onto the bat. So, stepping out of the crease and going over the top of the circle was easier for me. When Virat and I batted, it was not easy to pick singles on the front foot off the spinners. So, we stayed deep in the crease," said Shubman Gill, who was awarded Player of the Match.
"At one point, there was some kind of pressure on us. The message was sent to me that I have to bat till the end. (Favorite six tonight) The first one gave me a lot of confidence and the second one helped me get closer to my hundred. So, I enjoyed both," he added.
Shubman Gill has now scored 8 ODI tons, and with the form he is in right now, Indian fans might see the 'Prince' potentially touch the double-figures mark for the same.
