WATCH | 'Blast From The Past': MS Dhoni Turns The Tables, Gets A Journalist To Answer His Query On Retirement Plans

Dhoni invited the Cricket Australia reporter to sit alongside him on the dais when he asked him if he was going to announce retirement after team India got knocked out by West Indies in the World T20.

Former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni is popularly known by the nickname 'captain cool' as he always remains calm on the field even during tense situation, like a rock in stormy winds. However, On March 31, 2016, the world got to witness an angry and a bit witty side of the legendary wicket-keeper batsman.

Dhoni stole headlines for his sarcasm-laden jibe when an Australian scribe Samuel Ferris questioned him about his retirement plans. Dhoni invited the Cricket Australia reporter to sit alongside him on the dais when he asked him if he was going to announce retirement after team India got knocked out by West Indies in the World T20.

Dhoni asked whether the journalist wanted him to hang his boots. When the then Indian captain did not get a satisfactory answer, he asked whether he was fit enough to continue till the 2019 World Cup. Here's the video... Indian cricket team's most successful captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday took to social media to announce his retirement from international cricket.

"Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout.from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired (sic)", read the post of the formal announcement on Instagram.

The two-time World Cup winning captain last played for the Indian cricket team at the 2019 World Cup last year.

Dhoni will be seen leading the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2020, scheduled to take place in United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19.
