Virender Sehwag Shares Pic Of Bats With Which He Scored Double And Triple Centuries, Says 'Pyaare Saathi'

He is also the only Indian batter to have collected two triple-hundreds against his name in the longest format.

Former India great Virender Sehwag is regarded as one of the finest openers to have played the game. He entertained fans with his aggressive style of batting during his playing days. On Thursday, the former India opener took to his Instagram handle and posted a picture of the bats he used to play some of his memorable innings.

Sehwag also stated that he misplaced the bat with which he made 293 against Sri Lanka in 2009 at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.

"Bat mein hai dum - 309, 319 , 219, 119 , 254. Pyaare saathi. Lost 293 waala”, he captioned the post.

Notably, the 44-year-old became the first batter from India to hit a triple century in Test matches when he played the knock of 309 runs against Pakistan in 2004 at the Multan International Cricket Stadium. He is also the only Indian batter to have collected two triple-hundreds against his name in the longest format. Sehwag missed on a chance on becoming the Indian batter to have three triple centuries to his name as he to out against Sri Lanka after scoring  293 runs back in 2009. During his visit on 'The Ranveer Show’, the legend revealed that Sachin Tendulkar had agreed to do whatever he asked him to if at all the Delhi-based batter smashed a triple century in the match.

"I haven't told anyone why I wanted to score my third triple hundred so badly. I won't ever reveal it in my life. I can tell you that I told Sachin Tendulkar to do something if I got my third triple hundred. He agreed to do whatever I asked him to do if I was able to get to that score."

Virender Sehwag's second triple hundred came against South Africa when the batter amassed a sensational 319-run knock in Chennai (2008). This inning of Sehwag still remains the highest individual score by an Indian batter in Tests.
