Shoaib Akhtar announces his 'comeback' to cricket!

Shoaib Akhtar, former Pakistani bowling legend, announced his ‘comeback’ to the game of cricket almost seven years after his retirement.

Well, most of the cricket fans might not believe it but the Rawalpindi Express has confirmed the news himself on social media. On Tuesday, the 43-year-old former spearhead took to official twitter handle and posted a video where he could be seen bowling at the nets.

While posting the video, Akhtar wrote, “Here am making a comeback for Lahore Qalandar.. Bowled after years but loved it.”

Just to clear the fact he is not in a mood to return to professional cricket. Shoaib is currently a part of a project conducted by Lahore Qalandars, a PSL franchise, which aims at hunting young and fresh talents from different cities of Pakistan.

The video was shot at the Gujranwala Stadium where the Qalandars’ team arrived for the selection process. Shoaib, one of the selectors, tried out a few deliveries at the nets during the event.

Shoaib Akhtar last represented Pakistan against New Zealand in 2011. In 223 international match played for his country, he scalped a total of 444 (178 in Tests, 247 in ODIs, 19 in T20Is) wickets across all the three formats.

He is the fasted bowler Pakistan has ever produced and he also holds the world record of bowling the fastest ball -161.3 km/hour in the history of cricket.
