When Rashid Khan leads the Afghanistan team against Bangladesh in the one-off Test at Chittagong , he will re-write the record books as the youngest captain ever to lead in Test cricket.
Afghanistan's ace leg-spinner Rashid Khan is on verge of registering another record to his name when he takes to the field against Bangladesh in the one-off Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram starting Thursday.
Afghanistan one of the latest entrants to Test cricket got off to a forgettable start in the longest format as they were trounced by India inside two days. However the Asian side made a strong comeback to beat Ireland in only their second Test by seven wickets earlier this year.

Rashid will surpass Tatenda Taibu’s record as the youngest ever Test skipper, captaining his side at 20 years and 350 days. When Tatenda Taibu led Zimababwe against Sri Lanka in 2004 he was 20 years and 358 days old

“(I am) pretty excited. It is a new role to be a captain of the team and will try my best to be positive and enjoy the game,” Rashid told reporters last Friday after the arrival of his team in Chittagong.
