L Sivaramakrishnan Speaks About Phone Call From R Ashwin Post Trolling Off-Spinner

Sivaramakrishnan said that Ashwin called him and they talked about his bowling action.

Former Indian cricketer L Sivaramakrishan has disclosed that he received a call from Ravichandran Ashwin to talk about his bowling action after some hard comments about the off-spinner recently.

Sivaramakrishnan came up with some controversial remarks about Ashwin on social media. It all started when the former player spoke about the commentary team for the World Cup and how there was no genuine spinner in the mix. The discussion reached towards India’s struggles against spin bowlers where the former player made some remarks on Ashwin.

He also said that Ashwin is successful because of spin-friendly conditions in India that is being doctored to suit his style of bowling. He went on to say that anyone can pick wickets on such doctored pitches and also stated that Ashwin was a liability as a fielder and the most unfit cricketer.

But then in a sudden series of events, Sivaramakrishnan said that Ashwin called him and they talked about his bowling action.

"Ravi Ashwin was nice enough to call me just a while ago to discuss his bowling action, he was as shocked with the venom of the trolls as I was. Also clarified that the people involved are in NO WAY connected to him. GOOD LUCK @ashwinravi99. Do us proud," tweeted Sivaramakrishanan.

The Tamil Nadu-based spinner has been added to the Indian side that will take part in the upcoming World Cup. Ashwin’s inclusion happened at the last minute when Axar Patel failed to recover from a tear in his quadriceps muscle.

"Life is full of surprises and I honestly wasn't thinking I would be here. The trust that the team management has shown and the circumstances have made sure I am here today. But enjoying the game has been my prime motive over the last few years and that is what I will be doing in this tournament”, Ashwin said.
