In the last five-match Test series between India and Australia that took place in 1991-92, Australia dominated throughout, winning the series 4-0, while India managed to draw one match after a tough fight.

Team India's performances on their last two tours of Australia have been exceptional. They have enjoyed remarkable success against Australia in Test cricket recently, winning their last four series - two series on Australian soil and two on Indian soil.

In 2018, under Virat Kohli's captaincy, India created history by winning their first-ever Test series on Australian soil, defeating the hosts 2-1 in a four-match series.

In the 2020-21 series, a young Indian team, led by Ajinkya Rahane, stunned Australia with a brilliant comeback. After being dismissed for just 36 runs in the first Test in Adelaide, India bounced back to win the series 2-1. Rahane's century in Melbourne, followed by a stunning partnership between Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Rishabh Pant in Brisbane, secured one of India's most memorable Test victories.
