While the scheduled 90 overs were to be bowled, an additional 30 minutes were added to ensure the full quota of overs was completed. This is standard practice when 90 overs aren't finished on time. The match time can also be extended in case of rain or any other interruptions, ensuring the game proceeds as planned.

Lunch: 7 AM IST to 7:40 AM IST

Australia finish day 1 with strong total

Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first in IND vs AUS 4th Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy. At stumps on day 1, Australia reached 311/6. Four Australian batters scored half-centuries, with Sam Konstas dismissed for 60 runs, Usman Khawaja making 57, and Marnus Labuschagne contributing 72. Steve Smith was unbeaten on 68 runs, anchoring Australia's innings as they finished the day with a strong total.

Jasprit Bumrah struggled initially but once again delivered a brilliant performance with the ball, taking 3 wickets on Day 1. Akashdeep, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar contributed with a wicket each. However, Australia still holds a commanding position, heading into day two.
