Shreyas Iyer's 74 in 44 balls was supported well by Sanju Samson (39) and Ravindra Jadeja (45) to take India home while chasing 184 runs.

MATCH SUMMARY

After a dismal performance in the first T20I, not a lot was expected of SL batsmen, but to everyone's surprise, the visitors managed to put 183 on the board. Captain Dasun Shanaka's 47 in 19 balls at the end helped Sri Lanka's cause and they set a challenging total. Harshal Patel was one bowler who was expensive and the Lankan batsmen could easily target him.

When India came on to bat, Rohit was bowled out by Chameera in the very first over. This was followed by a steamy bouncer hitting Ishan Kishan on the helmet. He too, got out soon.

India was in a bit of trouble at 44/2, but Samson and Iyer played sensible yet aggressive innings and did not let the pressure come on to them.

After Sanju Samson got out at 128/3, Ravindra Jadeja took the reins from there and ensured India won the match in the 18th over itself.

The third T20I will be played in Dharamsala on Sunday, i.e. today at 7 pm.
