India vs England T20 WC 2024 Semi-Final?: England defeated USA by 10 wickets in their last Super 8 match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 on June 23 (Sunday) and became the first team who booked their place in the semi-finals of the marquee tournament. South Africa also joined them from Group 2 as they defeated co-hosts West Indies and finished as the top-ranked team in the Group 2 points table. Now, India– who look poised to finish the Super 8s as the top-ranked team in Group 1 and qualify for the semi-finals, will most likely face England in the semi-finals.

India are more than likely to finish the Super 8 stage as the number 1 team in the group as they have a very good Net Run Rate (NRR) of +2.425. Even if they lose against Australia in their last Super 8 match, it is unlikely that they will be displaced from the top position, which they currently occupy. And if India defeat Australia, they are certain to end the Super 8 stage as the number 1 ranked team.

Since England are the second-placed team from Group 2 and have qualified for the semi-finals, they are well set to face off against India in the knockout stage, the team they defeated in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

They chased down the target of 169 in just 16 overs without losing a wicket.
