England's James Anderson Reveals Secret Behind His Longevity
Veteran pacer James Anderson has expressed his regret on missing out the mouth-watering clash against arch-nemesis Virat Kohli in Ind vs Eng five-match Test series.
IND vs ENG: England cricket team's legendary pacer James Anderson, even at 41, continues to be a pivotal figure in the Test side, consistently delivering crucial breakthroughs whenever the team requires, effortlessly surpassing milestones.
For Anderson, the adage 'age is just a number' holds true, as his cricketing journey spanning over two decades continues to surprise many. What is the secret behind James Anderson’s sustained longevity? The veteran player, one of the greatest fast bowlers in cricket history, has shed light on the matter just ahead of the fifth and final Test match between India and England.
"Yeah, I guess you do look at things like that, but to be honest, I just go with the feel of me and my body. I don’t feel like I’m 41 years and 200 days old. You know, I still feel young. I can keep up with the young guys in training. I can still bowl the speeds that I want to, I can still deliver the skills that I want to. So, for me that’s the most important thing. The age is just a number and it’s pretty irrelevant from my thought process," Anderson said in an exclusive chat with Jio Cinema.
James Anderson 'missing' battle against Virat Kohli
The clash between two cricketing stalwarts, Virat Kohli and James Anderson, is a spectacle that every cricket fan eagerly anticipates and never wants to miss. Anderson has dismissed Virat Kohli seven times in Test cricket, the highest number of dismissals by any bowler against the Indian cricket icon.
Anderson expressed his regret on missing out the mouth-watering clash against arch-nemesis Virat Kohli in Ind vs Eng five-match Test series.
"Yeah, you always want to play against the best players. And it’s been a shame that he’s (Virat Kohli) not been a part of the series. We have had some great battles over the years."
"I think as a team you want to play against the best in the world and he (Virat Kohli) certainly is that. I guess English fans will be thankful he’s not playing because he’s such a quality player. But from our point of view, you want to test yourself, you want to come up against the best and he’s been someone who I’ve found really challenging to bowl at over the years and it’s a shame he’s not been playing," Anderson told Jio Cinema.
