How Team India Can Secure Spot In 2025 World Test Championship Final

With 10 Test matches left, India must not lose their winning momentum to solidify their position and ensure a spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

India's upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh, starting on September 19, is important for their qualification. Rohit Sharma & Co. will conclude their World Test Championship (WTC) campaign with IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which could play a decisive role in securing their spot in WTC 2025 final.

India's path to 2025 WTC Final: What they need to qualify

The Indian cricket team currently remains at the number one position in the 2023-2025 World Test Championship cycle. With six wins, two losses, and one draw, Rohit Sharma's team currently has a win percentage of 68.52% in World Test Championship (WTC) points table. At number two is defending champions Australia with win percentage of 62.5%. New Zealand, winner of first-ever WTC Final, is in third with a 50% win rate. 

With 10 Test matches left, India must not lose their winning momentum to solidify their position and ensure a spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

The Indian cricket team must win 6 of their remaining 10 Test matches to keep their win percentage above 60%. Team India's upcoming fixtures include IND vs BAN two-match Test series and three-match Test series against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma & Co. will end year with IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Only the top two teams will qualify for the World Test Championship final. To stay in the top two, India needs to win at least 5 of their remaining 10 Test matches and draw 1. If India secures 6 wins, their win percentage will rise to 64.03%, significantly improving their chances of reaching the final.
