'He Is Not Interested On Permanent Basis': Ganguly On Rahul Dravid's Appointment As India Coach
Team India Coach News: There is every possibility that Rahul Dravid may continue as director of the National Cricket Academy, as he is the only one to have applied for the post.
Sourav Ganguly has said that Rahul Dravid is "not interested" in the job of India's head coach on a permanent basis. There has been massive speculation about who would India's next head coach would be as Ravi Shastri's tenure is coming to an end after the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup.
BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly when asked if Rahul Dravid can become India's next coach after Shastri's exit, he said, "I understand he’s not interested (in the job) on a permanent basis.… But we haven’t asked him about it specifically. We will see when we come to it," to Telegraph India.

Three weeks ago, Rahul Dravid applied again to remain the director of the National Cricket Academy. Rahul Dravid's first term as NCA director is set to end soon. However, there is every possibility that Rahul Dravid may continue as director of the National Cricket Academy, as he is the only one to have applied for the post.
Thus, Dravid applying for NCA's director and Ganguly giving this statement today, it is pretty clear that Rahul Dravid is no longer in the race to become the coach of the Indian team.

Speaking at the interview, Ganguly also said that MS Dhoni will stay as a mentor to team India only during the period of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup. "He (Dhoni) has made it clear to us," said the BCCI Prez.
