England declare war against Kuldeep at Lord's
England captain Eoin Morgan came all guns blazing and declared that England are not scared of Kuldeep Yadav and will take on the unorthodox left-arm spinner head-on in the second ODI.
England captain Eoin Morgan came all guns blazing and declared that England are not scared of Kuldeep Yadav and will take on the unorthodox left-arm spinner head-on in the second ODI.
"The more we face him (Kuldeep) we'll get a clear idea of what he's bowling. We'll only find a way over time. Hopefully, we'll stick to our plans and get better from here. We need to stick to our strengths and need to learn as we go along."
Morgan showed glimpse of what he intended by deciding to bat first on a pitch where Virat wanted to bowl first. Morgan insisted that Virat has read the pitch wrong and it will be a high-scoring game. “It's a belting day. There was a bit rain yesterday but still it's quite hard on top,” said Morgan.
England kept faith in the same set of batsmen that failed against Kuldeep saying insisting that they learn by reading his hand well before the Test series. Kuldeep may not get as much turn on this pitch but the wrist spinner will still benefit from the bounce and may end up troubling the England batsmen once again.
India lead the three-match series 1-0 and England will have to succeed against the wrist spinners to first level the series here and negate the threat that Virat hinted at unleashing even during the Test series going ahead.
