Bumrah's 5-for ends the English fight, India 1 wicket away from victory
England still require another 437 runs to win with six wickets in hand
Team India is just one wicket away from registering their first victory in the ongoing Test series on Tuesday. While chasing a humongous target of 521 runs, the hosts have posted 311 for 9 in 102 overs and are 210 behind. Adil Rashid was batting at 30 and was accompanied with James Anderson (8).
Bumrah’s 2nd five-for in Test cricket
After bringing his team in the fight, Bumrah went on to grab one more wicket and bagged the 2nd 5-wicket haul in his Test career.
After losing an opportunity over a no-ball, the young Indian pacer made a stunning comeback in the 97th over, when Stuart Broad edged the ball which was moving away from the off-stump. Rahul, who was fielding at the second slip, took the 7th catch in this match.

Pandya sends Stokes packing
After Bumrah bagged 4-wicket haul, Pandya struck and removed Ben Stokes on 62. England lost 4 wickets in a span of 10 runs, getting reduced to 241/8 in 86 overs.

Bumrah gets the much-needed breakthrough
Finally, the Indian dressing room found a reason to erupt in joy as Jasprit Bumrah got the much-needed breakthroughs. In the 83rd over, Bumrah bagged back-to-back wickets in the 3rd and 4th delivery and removed dangerous looking Buttler and then injured Jonny Bairstow.
First, he dismissed Buttler on 106 and broke the 169-run partnership between him and Stokes. In the very next ball, he bowled out Bairstow and reduced the hosts to 231/6.

In his next over, he sent Woakes packing to the dressing. A sharp bouncer entangled Woakes while Pant made no mistake in grabbing the 7th catch in this game so far.

Jos Buttler’s maiden Test ton
Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes added some more runs in the post-tea session. Meanwhile, the English wicketkeeper brought up his maiden Test hundred which came after four years of his debut. He faced a total of 153 balls to reach this feat and hit 21 boundaries.
Ben Stokes’ 14th Test fifty
After facing 147 balls, all-rounder Ben Stokes brought up his 14th half-century in whites for England. The dynamic duo stitched a partnership of 139 runs however; they still required 320 runs to win.
Lunch report
The duo (Stokes and Buttler) troubled the Indian bowling attack throughout the second session. Unlike the previous session, the hosts didn't lose a single man after lunch and took the run chase beyond 170-run mark.
English vice-captain Joss Buttler smashed his 9th Test fifty while Stokes is inching towards his 14th. They both have added 111 runs for the 5th wicket so far.
India dominated the first session
Earlier today, English openers Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings resumed the innings at 23/0. But soon they lost their first wicket in next few deliveries. Ishant Sharma drew the first blood and ruled out Jennings on 13. Wicketkeeper Rishabh pant took the 6th catch in the game and became the first Indian stumper to do so in Test debut.
2 overs later, the hosts had another shock as they lost Cook on 17 as Ishant picked the second scalp in the innings.

Skipper Joe Root and Ollie Pope were next batsmen who took the responsibility on their shoulders and took the innings ahead. They batted for the next 12 overs but after adding 30 more runs, the English captain had to return to the dressing room.

A short of length delivery from Bumrah tempted Root to go for it. However, the ball had the edge of his Root’s bat while Rahul made no mistake to grab it.
In the very next over, Shami did his job perfectly to send Pope packing. Attempting to drive a delivery moving away from the off stumped, the 20-year-old batsman edged the ball and gave away a simple catch to the Indian skipper at the third slip.
