Deepak Chahar Claims Another Hat-Trick, His 2nd In 48 Hours

Deepak Chahar claimed another hat-trick - this time while playing for Rajasthan against Vidarbha at Trivandrum in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Just 48 hours after attaining a magical match-winning hat-trick against Bangladesh in the 3rd T20I, India fast bowling sensation Deepak Chahar claimed another hat-trick - this time while playing for Rajasthan against Vidarbha at Trivandrum in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Chahar’s 4 for 18 from his three overs helped Rajasthan restrict Vidarbha to 99 for 9 in 13 overs . The paceman's hat-trick included the wickets of Darshan Nalkande, Shrikant Wagh and Akshay Wadkar, all of which came in 13th over of Vidarbha’s innings. Earlier, in the Nagpur T20I vs Bangladesh, Chahar finished with remarkable bowling figures of 6/7 - best figures by a bowler in men's T20I cricket - as team India won the three-match T20I series 2-1. Chahar also became the first Indian bowler to claim a hat-trick in men's T20I cricket. Talking about his performance, Chahar revealed that stand-in skipper Rohit's faith in him made him happy, more than the praise he received for his bowling. "He told me I will use you as a Bumrah today. I will bowl you in the crucial overs and that was motivating for me. I love it when I am given responsibility under pressure because that makes me feel that I am being trusted. I feel bad when nobody trusts me. To get that confidence from the captain felt good at that stage of the game," he smiled.
