South Africa's highest Test wicket-taker Steyn recently announced his retirement from Test cricket to play more in the shorter forms of the game. While announcing retirement, the speedster had confirmed to continue to remain available for South Africa in both One-Day International and T20 International cricket.

In response to a tweet on Wednesday, Steyn confirmed that he had made himself available for the selection. "I did... Obviously lost my number in the reshuffling of coaching staff," Steyn tweeted.
The veteran bowler also apologised to Virat Kohli and tweeted, "Apologies to Virat and a billion people for thinking they not".I did... Obviously lost my number in the reshuffling of coaching staff.

The 36-year-old was ruled out of the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales without playing a single match for South Africa. He had picked up a shoulder injury during the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he played only two matches for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The fast bowler represented South Africa in 93 Tests and took 439 wickets at an average of 22.95. Steyn is the leading wicket-taker for his nation in the longest format as he went past Shaun Pollock earlier this year.Apologies to Virat and a billion people for thinking they not
