'I Will Always Be A Thala Fan': Ambati Rayudu Breaks Silence Over Criticism

Ambati Rayudu was widely criticised for over-praising MS Dhoni and his bias towards CSK.

Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has once again grabbed the headlines. He was an integral part of both Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during his playing days. However, Rayudu has always idolized MS Dhoni and never hesitates to praise CSK and Dhoni openly, even showing a bit of bias in his commentary.

Rayudu was widely criticised for over-praising MS Dhoni and his bias towards CSK. Now, Rayudu has broken his silence on the critics and trolls who have been continuously targeting him for his biased approach in commentary.

"I was a Thala's fan. I am a Thala's fan I will always be a Thala's fan," Rayudu said in X post.

No matter what anyone thinks or does. It will not make a one percent difference. So please stop spending money on paid pr and donate that to charity. Lot of underprivileged people can benefit," he added.

In the previous match of CSK against Punjab Kings (PBKS), when MS Dhoni came to bat, Rayudu compared his entry to a war hero walking in with a sword. He also went on to say that Dhoni is over the top, which once again drew criticism from fans for his over-praising.

"Aisa lagra hai Talwar lekr are hain Dhoni, bilkul chalega talwar aaj Dhoni ka Talwar chalega. (It looks like Dhoni is carrying a sword; the sword will definitely work. Today Dhoni's sword will work)" Rayudu said on Star Sports.

CSK are going through a tough phase in the ongoing season, managing to win only one match out of five and are placed at the second-last spot in the points table. MS Dhoni is also facing criticism from netizens as he is 43 years old and has not contributed as much as expected. In five matches so far, Dhoni has scored 103 runs. In the last match against PBKS, he came out to bat at No.5 when the team needed 69 runs from 25 balls. Dhoni played a quick knock of 27 runs in 12 balls, but despite his efforts, PBKS won the match by 18 runs.
