The entire team and support staff of Australia and West Indies have been sent to isolation for the time being.

The Australian cricket team is on a tour of West Indies these days. The second ODI of the three-match series was to be played between the two teams in Barbados on July 22, Thursday. The toss also took place on time for the match, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first, the playing XI of both the teams were also announced, but still the match could not start on time and was ultimately postponed in the last-minute.

First came the news that the start of the match was getting delayed due to operational issues and then it was later revealed that the match has been postponed due to a person being found Covid-19 positive inside the bio bubble. The entire team and support staff of Australia and West Indies have been sent to isolation for the time being.

"The second ODI between West Indies and Australia has been postponed due a positive Covid-19 test result from a non-playing member of the West Indies team," said a Cricket West Indies statement.

"This decision was taken after the toss at Kensington Oval once the result was known due to the Covid-19 protocols.

"All members of both teams and match officials will be retested today. A decision on when the match will replayed will be made at a later date once the test results are known."

The first One Day International was won by Australia to go 1-0 ahead in the series. Australia also has to play a five-match T20 International series in Bangladesh from August 3. Now it has to be seen when the remaining two One-Day-International matches against West Indies are rescheduled as well as whether Australia's tour of Bangladesh can start on time.
