'New Chapter In India's Space Odyssey': PM Modi, Other Leaders Laud ISRO As Chandrayaan-3 Lifts Off
Chandrayaan-3 Launch: Ministers and leaders cutting across political lines took to social media to offer their congratulations following the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3.
The successful launch of Chandrayaan-3, India's third Moon mission, captured the nation as prominent figures, ministers and leaders cutting across political lines took to social media to offer their congratulations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in France on a two-day visit, said Chandrayaan-3 scripted a new chapter in India's space odyssey.
"Chandrayaan-3 scripts a new chapter in India's space odyssey. It soars high, elevating the dreams and ambitions of every Indian. This momentous achievement is a testament to our scientists' relentless dedication. I salute their spirit and ingenuity!" PM Modi tweeted.
The mission, if successful, will make India the fourth country to achieve a controlled landing on the Moon, after Russia, the United States, and China.
Speaking after the launch, ISRO chief S Somanath said, "Chandrayaan-3 has started its journey towards the moon. Our dear LVM3 has already put Chandrayaan-3 craft into the precise around earth...Let us wish all the best for the Chandrayaan-3 craft to make its farther orbit raising manoeuvres and travel towards the moon in the coming days."
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said called it a special moment that would be remembered forever.
"Proud moment, congratulations India! Congratulation to Team ISRO on the successful launch of the Chandrayaan3. These special moments will be remembered forever! Every Indian is immensely proud today," Mandaviya tweeted.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the mission would pave the way for new discoveries and advancements.
"What an extraordinary feat! Congratulations to ISRO and the brilliant scientists and engineers behind the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3! India's commitment to space exploration is truly inspiring, and this mission will undoubtedly pave the way for new discoveries and advancements," Sarma said.
Despite scorching heat and a forecast of dry weather, over 10,000 space enthusiasts from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka made a beeline to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
