Yogini Ekadashi To Be Observed Over Two Days — Know Vrat Duration, Parana Timings, And All

Yogini Ekadashi holds a revered place in Hindu tradition and continues to be observed with faith and devotion for spiritual and material well-being.

Yogini Ekadashi 2025: Yogini Ekadashi, observed on the 11th day of the Krishna Paksha during the month of Ashadha, is one of the most significant Ekadashi fasts in the Hindu calendar. This sacred day precedes the important Devshayani Ekadashi, which marks the beginning of Lord Vishnu’s four-month yogic slumber (Chaturmas).

This year, Yogini Ekadashi will be observed on June 21, 2025. Devotees observe this fast to seek happiness, prosperity, and spiritual liberation. The vrat (fast) is believed to absolve all sins, provide health benefits, and bring peace to both the devotee and their ancestors.

Duration And Parana Timings:

According to the Hindu Panchang, the Ekadashi tithi will begin at 7:18 AM on June 21, 2025, and end at 4:27 AM on June 22, 2025. The fasting period spans approximately 30 hours and 15 minutes, starting from the moment Ekadashi tithi begins.

For those observing the fast on June 21, the Parana (breaking of the fast) should be done on June 22, between 1:47 PM and 4:35 PM.

However, those who begin their Yogini Ekadashi vrat on June 22 should observe the Parana the following day, June 23, between 5:24 AM and 8:12 AM.

Why Is Yogini Ekadashi Observed?

As per Vedic astrology and scriptures, Ekadashi is a day when the earth's energy flow is exceptionally strong, making it ideal for spiritual practices. Observing a fast on this day is said to help individuals detach from worldly desires, attain peace, and eventually achieve salvation.

It is believed that the benefits of observing Yogini Ekadashi are equivalent to feeding 88,000 Brahmins, a symbol of immense virtue. The fast is also renowned across the three realms—heaven, earth, and the underworld—for its power to grant blessings and lead the soul toward moksha (liberation).

Yogini Ekadashi holds a revered place in Hindu tradition and continues to be observed with faith and devotion for spiritual and material well-being.
