The dates for the highly revered Amarnath Yatra 2025 have been officially announced by the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). This year, the spiritual journey to the Amarnath cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir will begin on July 3, 2025, and conclude on August 9, 2025, lasting a total of 37 days. The Amarnath Yatra registration process has already commenced from March 15, 2025, and pilgrims are advised to complete their registrations in advance.
Spiritual Significance Of Baba Barfani Shivling
According to Hindu scriptures, the Amarnath cave is the sacred shrine where Lord Shiv revealed the Amar Katha to Goddess Parvati. Devotees believe that undertaking this pilgrimage with a pure heart and witnessing the Baba Barfani Shivling can liberate one of sins and help attain moksh.

Amarnath Yatra 2025 Route Guide

The Pahalgam route, known as the traditional path, stretches approximately 48 km and passes through scenic spots like Chandanwari, Sheshnag, and Panchtarni before reaching the holy Amarnath Cave. This route typically takes 3 to 5 days and is considered longer but less steep, making it ideal for those seeking a gradual and immersive spiritual trek.
The Baltal route, on the other hand, is shorter and about 14 km one way. It's preferred by those looking for a quicker pilgrimage. Starting from Baltal, it covers Domail, Barari, and Sangam before culminating at the cave. However, it is a steep and strenuous trail which generally takes 1 to 2 days, making it more suitable for physically fit devotees.
Amarnath Yatra 2025 Registration
The Amarnath Yatra registration began on March 15. To be a part of the pilgrimage all devotees are require to register in advance. Registration can be done online through the official Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) website or offline at designated bank branches. Pilgrims must submit a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by an authorised doctor, along with valid ID proof like an Aadhaar card. Registration is mandatory for both, Pahalgam and Baltal routes, without a valid Yatra Permit, entry will not be allowed. Only yatris between 13 to 70 years of age are eligible. For a smooth experience, pilgrims are advised to register early and follow all Amarnath Yatra 2025 guidelines provided by SASB.
