Significance Of Varuthini Ekadashi:

Ekadashi holds immense importance in Hinduism. According to ancient scriptures, Lord Krishna himself narrated the significance of Varuthini Ekadashi to Arjuna. When observed with full devotion and rituals, this fast is believed to bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to the devotee’s life. It is also said to be a great opportunity to please Lord Vishnu.

Worship Of Lord Vishnu In His Varaha Avatar:

On Varuthini Ekadashi, devotees worship Lord Vishnu in his Varaha (boar) form. This specific form is believed to help overcome financial difficulties and offer protection from negativity. According to beliefs, the merit earned from observing this Ekadashi is equivalent to that gained from performing charitable deeds during a solar eclipse. The vrat (fast) is said to remove sins, eliminate suffering, and fulfill devotees’ desires by eliminating obstacles from their path.

It is also believed that by observing this fast, all avatars of Lord Vishnu are pleased. The observer is blessed with wealth, freedom from debts, and abundance in family life.

Mythological Importance:

It is said that along with Lord Vishnu, devotees should also worship Goddess Lakshmi on Varuthini Ekadashi. According to mythology, Lord Krishna explained the greatness of this fast to Arjuna. Observing this vrat is believed to earn the same merit as performing Kanyadaan (donating a daughter in marriage). King Mandhata, a revered figure in ancient texts, is said to have attained heaven through this vrat.
