Raksha Bandhan 2025 Date

  • Raksha Bandhan Date: Saturday, 9 August 2025
  • Sawan Purnima Begins: Friday, 8 August at 12:12 PM
  • Sawan Purnima Ends: Saturday, 9 August at 1:24 PM

Since Purnima will be present during the sunrise on 9 August, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on this day. Rituals like holy bath, charity, fasting, and worship related to Purnima will also be observed on this date.

Raksha Bandhan 2025: Subh Muhurat To Tie Rakhi

On Saturday, 9 August 2025, the most auspicious time to tie Rakhi is from 5:39 AM to 1:34 PM. After 1:34 PM, the Purnima tithi ends and Bhadrapad begins. So, make sure to tie Rakhi within this time for best results.

Bhadra Timing On Raksha Bandhan 2025

No auspicious work should be done during the Bhadra period. It is believed that tying Rakhi during Bhadra is inauspicious, and sisters should avoid doing so.

On Sawan Purnima, Bhadra will begin on 8 August at 2:12 PM and will end on 9 August at 1:52 AM.

This means that on Raksha Bandhan this year, there will be no Bhadra during the day, so you can safely tie Rakhi on your brother’s wrist from morning until 1:34 PM.
