Hariyali Teej 2025: Sawan, considered the holiest and most significant month in Hinduism, is dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. During this sacred month, several important festivals are celebrated—one of the most cherished being Hariyali Teej. Hariyali Teej 2025 Date:
Hariyali Teej is celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi (third day) of the Shukla Paksha during the Sawan month. On this day, married women observe a fast for the long life and well-being of their husbands, while unmarried girls fast with the hope of getting a desirable life partner. According to the Hindu calendar, Tritiya Tithi will begin on July 26, 2025, at 10:41 PM and end on July 27 at 10:41 PM. As per the Udaya Tithi (sunrise rule), Hariyali Teej will be observed on July 27, 2025.

- Tritiya Tithi Begins: July 26, 2025, at 10:41 PM
- Tritiya Tithi Ends: July 27, 2025, at 10:41 PM
Puja Vidhi And Traditions:
On the eve of the fast, women follow a Satvik (pure) diet and apply henna to their hands. On the fasting day, devotees wake up early, take a holy bath, and wear fresh clothes—avoiding black, purple, or grey attire. After performing full Solah Shringar (16 adornments), women take a vow of fasting and later in the evening, perform the ritualistic worship.
Clay idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are either handcrafted or bought from the market and placed on a red cloth on a sacred platform. Devotees offer vermillion and traditional symbols of marital bliss to Goddess Parvati and fruits, flowers, and incense to Lord Shiva. The Hariyali Teej Katha is then recited, followed by an aarti. The fast is broken the next morning after concluding the rituals.
Significance Of Hariyali Teej:
According to mythology, Goddess Parvati wished to marry Lord Shiva, but her father intended to marry her to Lord Vishnu. With the help of her friends, Parvati took refuge in a forest and undertook intense penance to win Shiva’s love. Pleased by her devotion, Lord Shiva accepted her as his consort on the Tritiya Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the Sawan month—making this day eternally sacred. It is believed that fasting on this day helps women attain their desired partner and strengthens the bond between husband and wife.
