Birth Of Goddess Sita:

According to Hindu scriptures, Goddess Sita was born under the Pushya Nakshatra on a Tuesday. She is believed to be the earthly incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. Sita Navami is celebrated exactly one month after Rama Navami, which marks the birth of Lord Rama.

Mythologically, Goddess Sita is said to have emerged from the earth when King Janaka of Mithila was ploughing the field as part of a ritual. As he tilled the land, he discovered a golden casket within which lay a divine infant — Sita. Since the child was found on tilled land, she was named Sita, and Janaka raised her as his daughter. Thus, the day is also known as Janaki Navami.

Sita Navami Vrat:

On this day, devotees offer prayers and perform rituals dedicated to Goddess Sita, seeking her guidance and blessings. Women who face delays or obstacles in marriage often perform special remedies on Sita Navami to bring positivity into their lives.

Remedies To perform On Sita Navami:

One such remedy includes writing "Shubh Vivah" (Auspicious Marriage), along with one's maternal name and family lineage, on mango leaves and betel leaves using areca nut paste. Rice and turmeric are also placed on the leaves before offering them at a nearby temple at the feet of Goddess Sita. This traditional practice is believed to help remove obstacles and hasten marriage prospects.
