The vrat begins at sunrise and concludes after moonrise, with rituals including worship of Lord Ganesha and offering water (Arghya) to the Moon. The fast is broken only after these rituals are completed.

When Is Sakat Chauth In 2025?

Sakat Chauth Vrat will be observed on Friday, January 17, 2025. This auspicious day coincides with Friday, a day dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. Lord Ganesha, considered her adopted son, is said to bring prosperity and happiness when worshipped. On this day, the moon is expected to rise at 9:09 PM.

Can Water Be Consumed During Sakat Chauth Vrat?

The Sakat Chauth fast can be observed in two ways:

Nirjala Vrat (without water): Devotees abstain from consuming even water throughout the day and break their fast only after offering Arghya to the Moon.
Phalahar Vrat (fruit-based fasting): Those observing a partial fast can eat fruits once during the day.
