Ram Navami 2025: The nine forms of Adi Shakti, considered the creator of the universe, are known as Navadurga. Among them, the most revered and the one who grants spiritual powers and liberation is Goddess Siddhidatri. She is worshipped on the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri, which is also celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Ram.

With the worship of this final form of Goddess Durga, the rituals of Navratri come to an end. Ram Navami and the festival of Goddess Siddhidatri are both celebrated on the same day—Mahanavami. Is there a special connection between the two? Let’s find out.

Goddess Siddhidatri And Lord Ram: Celebrated On The Same Day

Lord Ram shares a deep connection with the Divine Mother and Shakti. During Vasant Navratri, he manifests with her power, and in Sharad Navratri, he uses that power. On the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri, Ram was born, and Goddess Siddhidatri is also worshipped on this day—hence, both festivals are celebrated together.

The Special Connection Between Navratri And Lord Ram

On one hand, Lord Ram was born on the Navami tithi (during Chaitra Navratri), and on the other hand (during Ashwin Navratri), he worshipped the Divine Power on this same tithi. Ram Navami marks the birth of Lord Ram, who incarnated to destroy demonic forces, while on this same day, Goddess Durga achieved victory over demons.

It is said that before his battle with Ravana, Lord Ram worshipped Goddess Durga, and only then did he attain victory. On Mahanavami, Lord Ram worshipped Maa Siddhidatri, and the next day, on Vijayadashami, he defeated Ravana.

Significance Of Worshipping Maa Siddhidatri

Devas, Yakshas, Kinnaras, demons, sages, seekers, Brahmins, and householders worship Maa Siddhidatri on the ninth day of Navratri to attain fame, strength, and wealth in their lives.

Worship Of Maa Siddhidatri

  • Take a bath early in the morning and sit before the Goddess with a pure heart and mind.
  • Light a lamp before her and offer nine lotus flowers.
  • Then chant the mantra "Om Hreem Durgaya Namah".
  • Wrap the offered lotus flowers in a red cloth and keep them safely.
  • It is believed that doing this helps destroy troubles and enemies.

Worship Of Lord Ram

On Ram Navami, Lord Ram should be worshipped between 12 to 1 PM. Offer yellow fruits, yellow flowers, and Panchamrit. Also offer Tulsi leaves. Recite the Ramcharitmanas or chant Lord Ram's name. Women facing difficulties in conceiving should worship the child form of Lord Ram. Perform a havan and conclude with an aarti.
