Head coach Steve Kerr referred to Floyd's murder as something that goes 'very deep' in the nation’s soul. "This is murder. Disgusting. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with US????" he wrote on Twitter.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence wrote: “HOW CAN WE FEEL SAFE WHEN THOSE MEANT TO PROTECT US ARE KILLIN’ US?!!!!. WHEN WILL MINORITIES BE FREE TO BE AMERICANS IN AMERICA!?”

Many athletes around the country reacted to the death of George Floyd via social media.

The officers involved in the incident have been fired and reportedly FBI is involved in investigating the case.

George Floyd - An 46-year-old unarmed African American man died while in police custody for allegedly committing forgery because of which protests sparked in Minneapolis city.

NBA star Stephen Curry also expressed his frustration and dismay as he took to social media and wrote that Floyd had a family and was murdered like his life did not matter.

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James posted picture of Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality. “Do you understand NOW!!??!!?" he wrote. “Or is it still blurred to you??”

Jaylen Brown shared a drawing of Floyd. “I am not asking your permission if this incident was right or wrong you know the answer,” Brown wrote and used teh hashtag #JusticeForFloyd.
