SLC bans Gunathilaka for six matches

Sri Lanka has also axed Lasith Malinga from the squad while drafting in the right-arm leg spinner Jeffrey Vandersay.

Gunathilaka made his Test debut against India in July this year.

He played initial two ODI’s against India before ruling himself out of the entire series with shoulder injury.

Danusha Gunathilaka has been suspended for 6 matches following a ‘misconduct’ during his sides 9-0 loss to cricketing giants India.

The 26-year-old was also omitted from the Sri Lanka squad to face Pakistan in the ODI series.

In addition to suspension, 20 percent of his annual retainership fee will be deducted following adverse report from team manager Asanka Gurusinha.

According to Cricbuzz, Gunathilaka turned up without his kit on a match day and carried a casual attitude in the training sessions during their home series against India.
