KXIP receive much-needed boost ahead of MI clash

It remains to be seen if Axar makes it to the starting XI straightaway when KXIP host Mumbai Indians at the Holkar stadium in Indore on Friday.

Indian spinner Axar patel has been declared fit and could soon be in line to make a comeback.

However, his availability for the Mumbai Indians match is still unclear.

Axar has played only couple of games in the 11th edition, scalping as many wickets but has failed to perform with the bat on both the occasions.

The 24-year-old was the only player retained by the Kings XI Punjab for the 11th edition.

Kings XI Punjab have been one of the most consistent sides in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League.

The Punjab based outfit has destructive batting line-up which features the likes of Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Karun Nair and Aaron Finch.

They have been equally lethal in the bowling department with skipper R Ashwin, Mujeeb ur Rehman and Ankit Rajpoot in the mainstay.

Punjab have won 5 of their last 7 encounters, collecting 10 points and have a strong chance of making it to the playoffs.

They suffered a shocking defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous game but the Preity Zinta owned team has received a massive boost before their face off against Mumbai Indians.
