Jasprit Bumrah claimed the wicket of Carey, who was caught behind by Rishabh Pant, marking his 99th dismissal in the World Test Championship (WTC) history. With this wicket, Bumrah not only completed his first five-wicket haul as India’s captain but also became the first Indian pacer to take 50 wickets in a single edition of the WTC. Ashwin holds the record for most wickets in a single edition of the WTC for India, with 71 wickets in 2019-21, followed by 62 wickets in 2023-25 and 61 wickets in 2021-23.
