Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar joined Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra as it resumed from the garrison town of Nagrota on Tuesday.

Dressed in a cream-coloured traditional Kashmir Pheran and beanie cap, Urmila Matondkar was interacting with Rahul Gandhi as they marched along.

Urmila Matondkar had resigned from the Congress in September 2019 after a short association of six months, and joined the Shiv Sena in 2020.

The yatra, which started from Kanyakumari on September 7, entered Jammu and Kashmir from Punjab on Thursday and reached Jammu city on Monday.

Earlier many other film celebrities had joined Rahul in his yatra. Swara Bhasker also joined Congress Party Leader's yatra in Ujjain.

Veteran actor Amol Palekar and his wife, writer-filmmaker Sandhya Gokhale, participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Maharashtra's Buldhana district.

Television actors Rashami Desai and Akanksha Puri also joined Rahul Gandhi in the Maharashtra leg of his yatra.

Pooja Bhatt had joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Hyderabad.

Riya Sen had marched with Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra.

'Veer Ki Ardas Veera' fame actress Digangana Suryavanshi joined the campaign in Rajasthan's Bundi.
