The nominations were unveiled on January 23(IST), and the Oscars ceremony is scheduled for March 11 at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting.

'To Kill A Tiger' unfolds the compelling journey of Ranjit, a farmer in Jharkhand, as he confronts an uphill battle for justice for his 13-year-old daughter, who was subjected to a harrowing incident of gangrape by three men.

Born in Delhi, Nisha Pahuja moved to Canada with her family in the 1970s, She rose to fame after her 2012 Emmy nominated documentary film, The World Before Her.

Nisha Pahuja is an Indian-born Canadian filmmaker based in Toronto, Ontario

Pahuja was introduced to film through studying English literature, working in social services and through working a s documentary researcher.

Pahuja studied literature with an intention of writing fiction but a chance meeting with local Canadin producer Geeta Sondhi set her on the path of documentary filmmaking
