The I View World Film Festival, organised by Engendered, a trans-national arts and human rights organisation, brought together some of the most prominent voices in cinema, , shining a spotlight on marginalized narratives and underrepresented identities.

The festival opened with the much-anticipated premiere of My Melbourne, an anthology film crafted by four celebrated Indian filmmakers — Imtiaz Ali, Kabir Khan, Onir, and Rima Das.

The film, created in collaboration with emerging creatives from marginalized backgrounds, delves into themes of identity and belonging, offering a powerful glimpse into authentic migrant experiences.

Adding to the evening’s grandeur, Kabir Khan and Imtiaz Ali were honored with the Engendered Impact Award for their exceptional work on My Melbourne.

The red carpet was graced by an array of notable personalities, including Sanjay Suri, Rituparna Sengupta, Alka Pandey, Shazia Ilmi, and Nelofar Currimbhoy.

The centerpiece of this year’s festival was the premiere of The Shameless, directed and written by Konstantin Bojanov. The film, which had its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, won Anasuya Sengupta the prestigious Un Certain Regard Award for Best Actress for her powerful performance.
