Modi will be PM in 2019 general election too, 'emotionally' attached to Amethi: Smriti Irani

New Delhi: The Union Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani on Wednesday confidently said that in 2019 general election too Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be PM. She said she has full confidence that in the 2019 general election Modi will be PM again. Attacking CM of UP Akhilesh Yadav she said-"There is gundaraj in the Uttar Pradesh." Akhilesh cabinet of ministers has a minister who is accused of rape and he is providing protection to the same, Smriti Irani alleged in an exclusive conversation with ABP News. Development and crime are main issues in the election in UP, she added. Talking about Amethi district in UP she said she is "emotionally attached" to it. Interestingly, Irani contested the 2014 general elections against Rahul Gandhi in Amethi constituency of Uttar Pradesh but lost to Gandhi by 1,07,923 votes, a 12.32% margin About Smriti Irani Smriti Irani is an Indian politician, ex-model, television actress and producer. She is a Member of Parliament, being nominated to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Gujarat and is currently Minister of Textiles in the Government of India. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, in July 2016, was taken away from Irani and she was given the Ministry of Textiles instead, in a cabinet reshuffle.
