Frameworks Finalised Under India’s G20 Presidency Will ‘Bear Fruitful Results’ Globally: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi

Talking about the G20 slogan ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, the Union Minister said the agenda of the summit is for global good and to ensure a sustainable future for the world.

The frameworks drafted under India’s G20 Presidency will benefit the world, said Union Minister Pralhad Joshi during an interaction before the G20 Summit begins over the weekend. The minister called hosting the G20 summit a ‘golden moment for India’ and stated that the frameworks drafted will ‘bear fruitful results for the entire globe’. 

In conversation with PTI, Joshi said, “Last year, India assumed the G20 Presidency for the first time to steer discussions and initiatives among member countries on challenges related to broad macroeconomic issues, trade, sustainable development, health, agriculture, energy, environment, climate change, and anti-corruption. The hosting of G20 is an important, historical, and golden moment for India.”

Talking about the G20 slogan ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, the Union Minister said the agenda of the summit is for global good and to ensure a sustainable future for the world. He added that ‘Mission LiFE’ is an integral part of this agenda. The Parliamentary Affairs Ministry head said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has focussed on sustainable development of economies and has said that this is not the time for any war. His thoughts have been accepted and appreciated globally.”

Elaborating on India’s global status, the minister said that the nation has managed to come out as a leader over the last few years and ‘what India says today, the world listens to it and endorses it’. 

Joshi lauded India’s contribution to the world during the pandemic and said, “India fulfilled an important responsibility at the global level during Covid by supplying domestically manufactured vaccines and other necessary medicines to various countries to combat the crisis.”

Notably, the G20 Summit is to be hosted in New Delhi from September 9-10. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over the baton of the G20 Presidency to Brazilian President Lula on September 10. However, Brazil will formally assume the G20 Presidency on December 1. The grouping comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US and the European Union (EU).
