This 'blindfolded' hair stylist holds 4 Limca Book of Records; eyes Guinness record

New Delhi: If there is a will there is a way, this saying is proved true once again by a person who takes hair cutting not only as a profession but as a passion. Delhi resident Ramzan Ali, (48) is trimming hairs since he was only 13. However, he is not an ordinary hairdresser. The person not only has not one or two but four Limca Book of Records in his name which includes 500 haircuts in 36 hours (1998) and 1200 haircuts nonstop in 100 hours (1999). But here's a catch- he cut them all "blindfolded"! Image-ABP Live Image-ABP Live His fourth record (2007) is for blindfold haircutting, non-stop, for 32 hours of 525 people. Image-ABP Live Image-ABP Live The hair stylist has a salon (Persora) in south Delhi where he not only earns bread and butter for his family but also teaches blind children hair cutting by getting himself blindfolded. "I believe that even blind children can become good hairdressers if given proper training and to prove it I myself cut hairs by tying a blindfold on my eyes," Ramzan Ali says. I use a blindfold in order to understand what the visually impaired children feel, he said. Ramzan Ali has been doing this noble job since 20 years. Born in Uttar Pradesh's Basti district, now in second half of April 2016, he wants to bag a Guinness World Record in his name for most consecutive haircuts in 24 hours by an individual. Presently, this record is in the name of Nabi Salehi of A&N Style Hair Studio, in London, UK, for most consecutive haircuts in 24 hours (526). "When I was 15-year-old a woman told me that the haircut which a foreigner barber can give, an Indian never can. At that time, I told her that one day I will do something which no one has ever done in the world", Ali recalled. "I want to do it for my country, I want to show the world what an Indian hairdresser can do", Ali added. However, presently he is struggling to get a sponsor for his event and expects someone to come forward. Image-ABP Live Image-ABP Live
