Freaky: Man falls into well in half-sleep state, dies

Salem (TN): In a freaky incident, a 28-year-old man died today after slipping and fell into a well in front of his house at Malliakarai in the district, police said. Kumaravel was sleeping in the open space last night and his mother had asked him to come inside the house around midnight. Responding to his mother's call, he started walking toward the house but fell into the floor-level open well, apparently in a half-sleep state, police said. Hearing the noise, neighbours rushed, pulled Kumaravel out and admitted him to a hospital here with severe injuries. However, the man succumbed to injuries this morning, police said. Tragically, the man's wife had given birth to his second child, a boy, only two weeks ago.
