Vidya Balan's Direct-To-OTT Film 'Jalsa' Is Set To Release In March

Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah will co-star in Jalsa, a drama-thriller about social class differences.

New Delhi: The previous two years have seen a significant shift in the dynamics of the Indian cinema releasing schedule. Because the epidemic forced theatres to close for most of the year, OTT became the preferred method for filmmakers to debut their work.

Since then, there has been a slew of direct-to-OTT films and now another one is ready to join the ranks, as Vidya Balan will be making a triumphant comeback to the digital screen with her upcoming film, Jalsa.

On March 18, 2022, Amazon Prime Video will premiere the drama thriller starring Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah as the lead. Director Suresh Triveni, who previously directed Tumhari Sulu, is behind the new film, which stars Vidya Balan in the lead. For the actress, it is the culmination of three films on the platform, after Shakuntala Devi and Sherni.

Amazon Prime announced the movie on their Twitter account, where they shared the first glimpses of Shefali Shah and Vidya Balan. Both Vidya and Shefali appear to be passionate and attractive in the promotional poster.

Abbas-Husain Dalal's dialogue is used in this film written by Suresh Triveni and Prajwal Chandrasekhar. Gurpal Singh and Iqbal Khan. A few of the cast members are Vidhatri Bandi and Surya Kasbhatia.

Vijay Krishna Acharya's co-star from Tumhari Sulu features in this Abundantia Entertainment film. Iqbal Khan, Gurpal Singh and Vidhatri Bandi are among the cast members.
