Earlier today, critical care expert and head of the medical board at Kolkata's Belle Vue Hospital Arindam Kar revealed that the ‘Apur Sansar’ actor’s health condition deteriorated ‘extremely’ over the past 48-hours. The doctor was quoted saying by IANS, “The team of doctors including neurologist, nephrologist, cardiologist, those from critical care medicine, infection disease specialist, both from public and private sectors, every one has put their effort to get the legend back from the critical stage, but it is not working.” Kar further revealed that despite them trying hard to bring Chatterjee to a better state, the actor is not responding at all. “We are very sorry to say that he is not responding at all”, said Kar. Soumitra Chatterjee started his acting career with the 1959 Satyajit Ray’s film ‘Apur Sansar’ opposite Sharmila Tagore. Soumitra Chatterjee was shooing for a documentary film ‘Abhijan’ helmed by Bengali actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay and last attended the shooting on October 1, post which he tested positive for COVID-19.
