Star Bharat Issues Official Statement On Sushant Singh's EXIT From Savdhaan India

Star Bharat, which airs 'Savdhaan India', has released an official statement on Sushant Singh's exit from the popular TV show.

New Delhi: Actor Sushant Singh’s exit from popular TV series ‘Savdhaan India’ set many tongues wagging. The ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ actor was hosting the show since the past seven years. It was being alleged that Sushant Singh was asked to leave ‘Savdhaan India’ following his participation in recent anti-CAA protests in Mumbai. Sushant took to Twitter to inform his fans about his exit from the Star Bharat show. He tweeted, "And, my stint with Savdhaan India has ended." His ouster attracted a lot of eyeballs as many believed he was asked to leave because he participated in an anti-CAA protest. Star Bharat has now released an official statement which said that the new format of the show didn’t require a presenter and hence the makers didn’t sign a new contract with Sushant Singh. “Star Bharat is dismayed by some reactions regarding a change at Savdhaan India. Savdhaan India has frequently experimented with formats and has used multiple presenters in its 7 year journey. The existing presenter was brought back in October, 2019, with the contract ending on January 15, 2020. The next format of Savdhaan India did not require a presenter, and hence a new contract was not signed. The channel has no political views, nor does it seek to influence the political views of its contracted talent,” a Star Bharat spokesperson said in a statement. Sushant, while talking to ABP News' correspondent Ravi Jain said that he is against the Citizenship Amendment Act as he believes the law divides people on the basis of religion. He also expressed his displeasure over the way police handled the students. He termed the protest against CAA as the basic right of the students. Watch this space for more updates!
