Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2: Rupal Patel, who plays the role of Kokila Modi in the hit show, was signed for the initial 20 episodes.

New Delhi: Star Plus' 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2' has managed to keep the viewers hooked on to their TV sets with its drama-packed episodes. The show, which launched on October 19, has opened with good numbers in the first week. Despite facing stiff competition from Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia starrer 'Kumkum Bhagya', 'Saathiya 2' secured impressive TRPs. Ardent fans of the show are quite excited to see their favourite stars back on the small screen. If a recent report in an entertainment portal is to be believed, then Rupal Patel aka Kokila Modi will soon make an exit from the show. Yes, you read that right! The makers had roped in Rupal for 20 episodes post which her track is supposed to end in 'Saathiya' season two. Considering her popularity, the production house wanted to her to be part of the new season. They have decided to convince the 'Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke' actress to continue her stint in the show, the report added. "Rupal signed the show for initial 20 episodes and accordingly the whole track was planned. And by mid of November, she will make an exit from the show. However, her character this season is also a hit and that's why the makers have decided to convince her to continue in the show. Though a final decision is yet to be made," a source told SpotboyE.

The decision about Rupal Patel's exit from 'Saathiya 2' is yet to be made. If the makers are able to convince her, she might continue to her feature in the show, the report said.

TRPs of 'Saathiya 2'

'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2' secured the number third spot in the latest set of BARC TRP ratings. The show opened with a rating of 2.8 on October 19 while the average rating for the week stood at 2.2.

Yashraj Mukhate's 'Rasode Mein Kaun Tha' rap video grabbed several eyeballs and went viral on social media. The makers of 'Saathiya' announced the new season after the phenomenal response to the video.
