YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav has once again found himself at the center of controversy, this time for his offensive remarks against Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chum Darang. During a conversation with Rajat Dalal on his podcast, Yadav made derogatory comments about Chum, questioning her name and her role in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ while also mocking her appearance.

What Elvish Yadav said about Chum Darang

While talking about Karanveer Mehra and Chum’s liking for each other on the show, Elvish said, “Karanveer ko pakka COVID tha kyunki Chum kisko pasand aati hai bhai, itna taste kiska kharab hota hai! Aur Chum ke toh naam mein hi ashleelta hai… Naam Chum aur kaam Gangubai Kathiawadi mein kiya hai.”

Netizens slam Elvish Yadav

A clip of Elvish’s remarks quickly went viral on Reddit, drawing widespread criticism from netizens. Fans of Chum Darang expressed their disappointment, calling out Yadav’s insensitive behavior.

“This is what happens when you give gundas a platform,” one user commented. Another added, “Yeah, like the best thing we can do is stop giving them attention because that’s what they thrive on. Ye desh ka yuva kis kisko idol bana leta hai. Pathetic.”

“Elvish being the duffer he is,” wrote another user. “How can a chapri like him have fans? and who is he interviewed by, a Gunda,” read another comment.

Another comment highlighted the struggles faced by actors from Northeast India, stating, “We hardly have NE actors and actresses. For those who make it, to hear such things on platforms who are irresponsible on another level must be soul-crushing.”

Following the backlash, Elvish Yadav removed the controversial statement from his YouTube channel.

A History of controversies

This isn’t the first time Elvish Yadav has been embroiled in controversy. During Bigg Boss OTT 3 last year, he made headlines for issuing an open threat to fellow contestant Sai Ketan Rao. Additionally, his name has surfaced in connection with the Noida Snake Venom case, further keeping him in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.

Despite the controversies, Elvish Yadav remains active in the entertainment industry. He is currently a part of 'Laughter Chefs Season 2' and also serves as a gang leader in the ongoing season of 'Roadies'.
