Aly Goni Trolls IIT Baba Over Wrong India Vs Pakistan Prediction In Champions Trophy: 'Yeh IIT Baba Ka Career...'

IIT Baba from the Maha Kumbh, found himself at the center of online jokes after his prediction about India’s defeat in the India-Pakistan cricket match turned out to be completely off the mark.

Self-proclaimed guru Abhay Singh, widely recognised as IIT Baba from the Maha Kumbh Mela, found himself at the center of online jokes after his prediction about India’s defeat in the India-Pakistan cricket match turned out to be completely off the mark. His forecast had stirred discussions on social media, but the result of the match proved otherwise. Actor Aly Goni was among those who playfully called him out after India's victory.

What IIT Baba had said about the India vs Pakistan match

Ahead of the high-stakes ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match, a video of IIT Baba went viral in which he confidently declared that India would lose and that star cricketer Virat Kohli would not succeed. His words gained traction online, with many reacting to his claims.

In the viral clip, he said, "Main tumko pehle se bol raha hu, is baar India nahi jeetegi. Jo Jo hain, Virat Kohli...sabko bol do ki aaj jitke dikhaye. Ab maine mana kar diya hai ke nahi jeetegi to nahi jeetegi. Ab kya, bhagwaan bade hain ya tum bade ho?" (“I'm telling you in advance, this time India won’t win. Whoever it is—Virat Kohli, everyone—tell them to win today if they can. Now that I have said they won’t, they won’t. So what now? Is God greater, or are you?”)

Aly Goni’s response

Once the match concluded with India securing a six-wicket win, Aly Goni took to X (formerly Twitter) to poke fun at IIT Baba’s failed prediction. The actor wrote, “Yeh IIT Baba ka career Virat ne shuru hone se pehle hi khatam kar diya” (Virat ended IIT Baba’s career before it even began).

Team India’s victory

India’s triumph over Pakistan was marked by an outstanding performance from Virat Kohli, who remained unbeaten at 100 runs. Aly, along with many others, praised the cricketer’s match-winning effort, tweeting, “The greatest chase master #KingKohli.”

Virat’s century was widely celebrated, with celebrities including his wife, actor Anushka Sharma, congratulating him. India’s win at the Dubai International Stadium also meant Pakistan’s unofficial exit from the tournament.

IIT Baba’s reaction after his wrong prediction

After his prediction turned out to be incorrect, IIT Baba was asked about his response. He said, “Hum toh aise khelte hain na. Hum jab khelte hai toh bus hamare liye khelte hai. Kuch message nahi hai.(We play like this only, we play for ourselves. I don’t have any message). Prediction, vediction mein kabhi vishwas nahi karna chahiye, kisi ka mat karo vishwas. Apna dimaag use karo, na kabhi bhi (Don’t believe in predictions, use your brains)."
