Sonu Sood Named State Icon Of Punjab; Says ‘I Am Motivated To Keep Working Hard’

According to a report of IANS, the ‘Simmba’ actor has been appointed as state icon of Punjab by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been working tirelessly in the COVID-19 pandemic. While the world was enjoying their quarantine period, the ‘Dabbang’ actor was busy helping lakhs of people including workers, students and even the people who are residing outside the country. He has been given the title of ‘Migrant Messiah’ by his fans as he took up the responsibility of transporting migrant labourers to their homes via buses, trains and flights. The ‘Dabbang’ actor is still lending out his helping hands to those in need. Sonu Sood Launches Scholarship Programme For IAS aspirants On His Mother's Death Anniversary According to a report of IANS, the ‘Simmba’ actor has been appointed as state icon of Punjab by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Sonu Sood said in a statement, “I am overwhelmed and extremely grateful for this honour. Having been born in Punjab, this appointment means so much to me, emotionally. I am happy to have made my state proud of me and I am motivated to keep working hard.” A few days ago, Sonu announced that he is writing a book recounting his experience of helping migrant workers during the Covid lockdown. The title of the book is ‘I Am No Messiah’ and is expected to be out in December. The book has been co-written by Meena Iyer. Previously in a statement, the ‘Entertainment’ actor said, “I want to thank god for making me a catalyst in helping the migrants. While my heart beats in Mumbai, after this movement I feel a part of me lives in the villages of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Uttarakhand and various other states, where I have now found new friends and made deep connections. I have decided to put these experiences and stories that are embedded in my soul forever, in a book.” On the professional front, Sonu Sood will be next seen in Akshay Kuma starrer 'Prithviraj'.
